My greatest joy comes from helping others get started in the sport of showing dogs as well as developing their breeding program in a direction that will bring them success in the show ring as well as the satisfaction of knowing that they have made a positive contribution towards the improvement of the beagle breed. Inquiries are welcome both for the use of my stud dogs as well as the purchase of show dogs. I am happy to share photos and pedigrees of dogs which you may wish to consider making a part of your breeding program.
HISTORY
JUST-WRIGHT beagles began in 1977 with the purchase of a pet beagle
out of show champion parents. "Sugar Cookie" eventually produced JUST-WRIGHT
beagles' first champion, Ch. Just-Wright Hollyberry, who completed her
championship in October, 1984. By now I realized that the dogs I had started
with were not good enough to become the foundation for the blood line I
wanted to establish. I started over with my breeding program and carefully
selected the best individuals I could obtain from kennels such as Hollypines,
Echo Run, Whisper and White Acres. I have worked hard to breed beagles
that are of correct type and conformation, sound movement
and good ground covering capabilities, plus temperaments that are enjoyable
to live with and outgoing in the show ring. 'JOB 1' for my beagles is to be the very best family companion that a beagle can be. I am one of only a handful of breeders that has consistently done health screenings on my dogs. I have selected for good health and friendly, outgoing temperments that train well and are a joy to live with.
CREDENTIALS
Since smart buyers like to look at the "track record" of the source
they are buying from, here is my list of what I have accomplished so far
in the Sport of Purebred dogs: To date I have been responsible for
finishing 145 Champion beagles and English Foxhounds.
Many of these were personal companions finished by their owners who I had
the pleasure of introducing to the sport of showing dogs. Among my champions
are six Best In Specialty Show winners (Ch. Just-Wright Lethal Weapon,
Ch. Just-Wright Braveheart, Ch. Just-Wright Home Run, Ch. Just-Wright
Southpaw, Ch Just-Wright Too Darn Hot & Ch Just-Wright The Full Monty) and the multiple group winning Ch. Just-Wright Swashbuckler who
was the #1 beagle in the U S for 1997. My English Foxhound, Ch. Just-Wright
Rambo of Pern was the #1 English Foxhound (Pedigree System) for 2000 and
is a group placer. Ch Just-Wright Home Run went on to become the NBC 15" Stud Dog of the Year in 2002. His half-brother, Ch Just-Wright I'm a Pepper, Too, CD, RN was NBC Stud Dog of the year for 2004. Ch Just-Wright The Full Monty was the #1 15" beagle in the US (Breed System) for 2008. He is also #1 Breed System for the first quarter of 2009.
Just-Wright dogs have been consistently successfull at the National level. In the 2007 National Beagle Club Specialty which was held in Aldie, Virginia, October 2007 Just-Wright dogs did the following:
Best 13" in Puppy Sweepstakes and Best In Sweepstakes won by Just-Wright Dora The X'plorer
Best 15" in Puppy Sweepstakes & Best Puppy in Specialty won by Just-Wright Just One Look ('Monica')
Judge's Award of Merit won by Ch Just-Wright Silk Pajamas (PJ)
Best Opposite 13" Variety & Best Opposite of Breed won by Ch Just-Wright All The Way May.
The 2008 Nationals held in Estes Park, Colorado proved to be our "Best Yet" with the following wins:
15" Best of Variety won by Ch Just-Wright The Full Monty
Best Veteran in Show won by Ch Just-Wright I'm A Pepper, Too, CD, RN ("Andrew")
Judge's Award of Merit won by Ch Just-Wright Silk Pajamas (PJ) ---again!
1st Place 6-9 Puppy Bitch won in all 4 classes Specialties & Sweepstakes by Just-Wright Aphrodite
BEST IN SPECIALTY SHOW won by Ch Just-Wright The Full Monty at the Rocky Mountain Beagle Club Specialty
Judge's Award of Merit won by Ch Just-Wright Just One Look (Monica) at the Rocky Mountain Beagle Club Specialty
I also enjoy doing Obedience training. I have put obedience titles on
two German Shepherds, a Doberman, a Rottweiler and four of my beagles. My
beagles 'retired' the Southern California Beagle Club's perpetual trophy
for High In Trial at their speciaty by winning three High In Trials there.
I am currently enjoying training in Rally Obedience and Agility.
